Bevel Gears Brand Logo

A bevel gear is a type of gear used to connect two rotating shafts with intersecting axes.

These gears come in pairs, featuring a conical shaped, pitched surface, and can have either straight or spiral (curved oblique) teeth. Bevel gears have differing numbers of teeth and can have either outward (external) or inward (internal) facing teeth. They are always supplied in matched left and right-handed pairs due to their non-identical nature.

Bevel gears work by changing the direction of power transmission and speed between the connected shafts, with the reduction ratio varying between gear pairs, particularly higher for spiral bevel gears.

They are commonly used in applications requiring direction and speed changes in shaft rotation, such as differential gear units, marine and automotive systems, power plants, printing presses, and machine tools.

Belting Online Bevel gears are supplied in pairs, available in sizes ranging from 0.5 to 5.0 MOD/12DP, and come in various ratios. They are manufactured from materials such as steel EN8 (080M40/080M46) or equivalent, and durable plastics like moulded HOSTAFORM® C, hard-wearing Polyketone, and moulded DELRIN® 500. Intermediate sizes and custom mitre gears can also be produced according to specific drawings.
